The home page has been redesigned. The new
design is meant to be more compact and make things easier to find.

There is a new page devoted to Recent Issues.
This page is (and will be) devoted to newly issued items within
the Discography's scope. Thanks to Stan DeOrsey for suggesting
this page and developing the first draft of it.

Stan DeOrsey's Of Ballads, Songs and Snatches,
featuring lost and seldom-recorded G&S pieces, has undergone a
major revision. All the operas are now included, and there are numerous
additions to the first half of the canon that was there previously.

Added a page that compares the track timings
of three Princess Ida recordings. This came about during a
SavoyNet
discussion about Sir Malcolm Sargent's tempi, particularly on the

These other recordings do not fall within the scope of the
Discography, but I updated the lyric
overview to mention them.

Bob Lang pointed out that the
1963 Lyric Theater Utopia was actually
that group's second recording of the opera; they put out an abridged
version in 1957.
