Version 7.5 — January 26, 1997 (300 pages)

Added a long section on Tom Lehrer's G&S-inspired songs, "The Elements" and "Clementine."
Added the Sir Arthur Sullivan Society's cassette re-issues of various vintage recordings: the 1906 Mikado, the 1907 Pathé Yeomen, the 1931 abridged Yeomen, and the 1931 Ruddigore. (Thanks to Stan DeOrsey.)

The listing of compilations from the complete sets has been divided into three pages: one for D'Oyly Carte compilations, one for Sargent/EMI compilations, and one for all others.

Updated the scope page to reflect recent expansion of the Discography's scope.

The chronological index has been split into multiple web pages. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience, but the old version had simply become too unwieldy.

Added the 1980 recording of excerpts from John Wolfson's play, W. S. Gilbert: A Musical Biography. (Thanks to Tom Shepard for sending me an itemized list of the tracks on this disc.)

Added a new source for videos, the Internet Music Shop (http://www.musicshop.co.uk). Note that this store sells U.K. PAL videos only.

Added the following videos: 1965 D'Oyly Carte Patience; 1967 Halas & Batchelor Ruddigore cartoon; 1972 BBC Gondoliers; 1981 State Opera of Australia Pinafore; 1982 BBC Trial; 1989 Opera Australia Gondoliers; 1992 New D'Oyly Carte Mikado. Version 6.1 — November 10, 1996 (266 pages)

Added the remaining BBC broadcast recordings from 1966 (Trial, Pinafore, Ruddigore, Yeomen and Gondoliers) and 1989 (every opera except Ida and Grand Duke, which had been added previously). Thanks to Pete Withey for the cast lists.
Corrected the link on the home page to Yahoo's Gilbert and Sullivan Page. (It had been correct at one time, but Yahoo keeps re-categorizing—the nerve of them.)
Added a link from the home page to Opera World, the only significant web-based purveyor of opera videos, including a significant number of G&S videos.
Added the 1983 cassette re-issue of the World Record Club Pirates.
Added the 1977 cassette re-issue of the 1954 Allegro-Royale Mikado.

Version 6.0 — November 4, 1996 (250 pages)

Added videos to this site. A total of twenty-six new entries, all videos were added to the site. (Several others, such as Papp's Pirates, were already here by virtue of a companion audio recording.)
Added a video sources page. [Page discontinued]
There are three new shortcuts at the top of each page: video index, miscellaneous index (for anthologies, highlights discs, derivative works, and the like), and Sullivan index (for Sullivan's not-operatic works). The latter is still under construction at this stage.
